Overview

Four Pillars of Driver Vetting& Duty of Care

Every driver and vehicle in the Nebo network passes through the same chauffeur background check standards before a single ride is assigned.

Nebo Rides is a BBB A+ accredited, National Limousine Association member with $5 million in commercial liability insurance, serving 500+ cities worldwide.

Background Checks

Multi-jurisdictional criminal check (county, state, federal). DMV record review. Sex offender registry screening. Drivers with felony convictions or DUI within 7 years are disqualified. No exceptions.

Drug Screening

10-panel drug screening at onboarding. Random quarterly testing. Immediate testing after any incident or accident. A failed test results in permanent removal from the network.

Vehicle Inspections

Physical inspections, not photos. Tire tread depth, brake pad thickness, interior cleanliness, and safety equipment (first aid kit, fire extinguisher, reflective triangles). No vehicle older than 3 years.

Insurance

$5M+ commercial auto liability. This exceeds the regulatory minimum in every market Nebo operates. Certificates of insurance are available for procurement review and can be named to specific corporate accounts.

A corporate travel manager carries liability for every employee in a ground transportation vehicle. If the driver has a criminal record, the vehicle fails an inspection, or the insurance falls below the required threshold, the company faces direct exposure. Most car services do not provide the documentation needed for a procurement audit. Nebo applies a standardized driver vetting and duty of care process to every chauffeur: multi-jurisdictional criminal background check, DMV record review, sex offender registry screening, 10-panel drug screening, and Smith System defensive driving certification.

Why Choose Professional Corporate Transportation Service

Every vehicle undergoes physical inspection covering tire tread, brakes, interior condition, and safety equipment. Vehicles older than 3 years are not dispatched. Compliance documentation is pre-assembled into audit-ready packets. Passenger data is encrypted under SOC2 Type II standards, with annual audits.

What Sets Our Corporate Transportation Service Apart

Continuous monitoring flags license expirations, insurance lapses, and new violations in real time. Drivers who fall out of compliance are auto-suspended. Full program details are available through corporate travel and the global network.

The Process

Our Vetting & Duty of Care Protocol

1

The 5-Checkpoint Vetting Sequence

Every driver passes through 5 checkpoints before assignment. Checkpoint 1: multi-jurisdictional criminal background check covering county, state, and federal records. Felony convictions disqualify. Checkpoint 2: DMV record review for moving violations, license suspensions, and DUI/DWI history. DUI within 7 years disqualifies. Checkpoint 3: national sex offender registry screening. Any match disqualifies. Checkpoint 4: 10-panel drug screening. Failed test disqualifies. Checkpoint 5: Smith System defensive driving certification. This sequence is completed before the driver takes a single ride. It is repeated annually for all active drivers, with quarterly random drug testing and continuous monitoring of license and insurance status.

Physical Vehicle Inspections

Nebo does not accept photo-based vehicle verification. Physical inspections are conducted by operations staff. Inspection points: tire tread depth (minimum 4/32"), brake pad thickness, headlight and taillight function, interior cleanliness (seats, carpet, headliner), seatbelt function, and safety equipment presence (first aid kit, fire extinguisher, reflective warning triangles). No vehicle older than the current model year minus 3 is dispatched. Inspections are documented and available for corporate audit. For affiliate partners in the global network, the same inspection standard applies and is verified during the 30-day onboarding probation.

Who This Is For

Common Use Cases

Corporate Procurement Audit

A Fortune 500 company's procurement team evaluates Nebo for a 3-year ground transportation contract. Nebo provides the compliance packet: vetting methodology document, sample driver background check summary, vehicle inspection checklist, $5M certificate of insurance, SOC2 Type II audit report, and GDPR data processing agreement. The procurement team reviews the materials against their vendor evaluation scorecard. Nebo passes all 12 criteria. The contract is signed within 30 days. Corporate travel programs are structured for multi-year engagements.

Duty of Care Incident

A driver in New York receives a speeding violation. The continuous monitoring system flags it within 48 hours. The driver is suspended pending review. The corporate account manager is notified. After review (first minor violation, no pattern), the driver is reinstated with a warning. The incident and resolution are logged and available for the corporate client's duty of care file.

Minor Transportation Vetting

A family office in London books nanny transportation for 3 children. The assigned driver undergoes the standard 5-checkpoint vetting plus enhanced Vulnerable Sector screening (required for drivers assigned to minors). References from prior childcare or family service roles are verified. The family receives the driver's vetting summary before the first ride.
